Shipping Specialist

Since 1989, Lakeland Manufacturing has been producing precision machined components for customers across a variety of industries. We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented individual with shipping or warehouse experience who takes pride in accuracy and keeping products moving efficiently. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, solving problems, and ensuring customers receive their orders on time, we want to hear from you.
Compensation
$20.00 - $26.00 per hour, depending on experience.
What You'll Do
Coordinate daily outbound shipments to ensure on-time customer delivery.
Prepare, package, verify, and label shipments for accuracy.
Receive incoming materials and verify shipments against packing documentation.
Coordinate with freight carriers and schedule pickups and deliveries.
Manage internal fleet activities and outside processing to keep materials moving efficiently.
Monitor shipping performance and identify opportunities for process improvements using Lean principles.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shipping department.
Collaborate with Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Customer Service to meet customer expectations.
What We're Looking For
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of shipping, receiving, warehouse, or logistics experience preferred.
Knowledge of shipping procedures and freight documentation.
Forklift experience or willingness to become certified.
Basic computer skills for shipping and inventory transactions.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask.
Commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Ability to work safely around forklifts, shipping equipment, and manufacturing operations.
