New Year’s is celebrated on December 31st, the last day of the year, and has been observed by civilizations around the world for over four millennia. Many credit Julius Caesar with establishing January 1 as the first day of the year, partly to honor Janus, the Roman god of beginnings, whose two faces allowed him to look both into the past and toward the future. It’s a time for reflection and renewal.
